91% of event professionals now use AI1, but only 40% apply it to show-specific planning and execution2. To close this gap, Grip, the leading event technology platform, has today launched EventSkills (eventskills.ai), a free community library of AI skills for event teams.
EventSkills' downloadable .md files can be used with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Codex to automate event-specific tasks. These are ready-made AI capabilities for specific event jobs, such as:
Contributors keep their name on the skills they publish, and every skill carries a download count, star rating, badges and a category.
Anyone can upload or download a skill. That includes event organizers, tech vendors, agencies, freelancers or anyone else that wants to contribute to the advancement of the events industry.
Tim Groot, Founder and CEO of Grip, said: “EventSkills launches into a gap the industry's own research keeps pointing at: event professionals have embraced AI as part of their workflow but they don't have a central hub that helps them understand what actually works. We wanted to launch a standalone product where the community can come together to share their AI skills, improve their workflows and grow their events.”
A generic AI assistant can draft an email. It cannot look up who registered, which sessions they booked, which sponsors are still owed deliverables or which speaker slots are unconfirmed. That live-data step is where more advanced AI experiments fail, and it is visible in UFI's numbers: plenty of standard tool use but only 17% have AI actually integrated into the systems a team runs.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard introduced by Anthropic and now adopted widely across AI vendors, closes it. MCP lets AI assistants reach live data in the systems a team already runs, securely and in real time. Several of the seed skills on EventSkills are written to work with the Grip MCP, so an organizer can go from “draft me a post-event report” to a report with real numbers in it. Skills written for other event tools with MCPs are equally welcome, whether that is a registration platform, a CRM, an agency's own tooling or another event platform.
“EventSkills is free and the skills come from anyone who wants to contribute,” explained Tim. “Skills that work with other platforms are as welcome as the ones that work with ours. We built the foundations with EventSkills and now we've opened it up for the whole event organizer community to contribute.”
EventSkills is live at https://eventskills.ai today. Anyone can register, download skills or upload their own. The library opens with a starter set of skills built by Grip's team covering registration, sponsors, matchmaking, onsite ops and reporting, browsable by use case and by AI platform.
